The Fyffe Red Devils lost against the Sand Rock Wildcats back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Fyffe was beaten by Sand Rock 76-31. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Fyffe in their matchups with Sand Rock: they've now lost five in a row.
It was another big night for Katelyn St.Clair, who scored 36 points along with six rebounds and five assists for Sand Rock. St.Clair continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Chloe Stephens, who scored 14 points along with three steals.
Fyffe bumped their record down to 12-9 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Sand Rock, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fyffe is on the road again on Friday and play against Collinsville at 6:00 p.m. on January 12th. As for Sand Rock, they will challenge Gaston at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Gaston will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 394th, while Sand Rock is ranked 92nd).
