After three games on the road, Leuzinger is heading back home. They will take on the Hawthorne Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Leuzinger's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matchups.
Last Monday, Leuzinger strolled past King/Drew with points to spare, taking the game 67-53.
Leuzinger's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Joshua Garland, who scored 15 points. Garland is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tylan Kinsey, who scored 15 points.
Meanwhile, Hawthorne's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Inglewood on the road and fell 93-32. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Hawthorne in their matchups with Inglewood: they've now lost six in a row.
Leuzinger is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a massive bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Hawthorne, their loss dropped their record down to 5-12.
Everything came up roses for Leuzinger against Hawthorne in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 77-33 win. Will Leuzinger repeat their success, or does Hawthorne have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
