Basketball Recap: 21st Century Charter Finds Playoff Glory Versus Fort Wayne Bishop Luers

21st Century Charter extended their postseason success on Saturday against Fort Wayne Bishop Luers. They strolled past the Fort Wayne Bishop Luers Knights with points to spare, taking the game 61-46. Winning may never get old, but the Cougars sure are getting used to it with their seventh in a row.

21st Century Charter's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Terrence Hayes, who went 6-for-10 en route to 17 points in addition to five rebounds and four blocks. Hayes' afternoon made it nine games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Lemetrius Williams, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 11 boards.

21st Century Charter smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fort Wayne Bishop Luers only seven offensive boards.

Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dereon Truesdale, who posted 14 points and five assists. Truesdale has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Ayle Taylor was another key player, putting up ten points and seven rebounds.

21st Century Charter's win bumped their record up to 20-6. As for Fort Wayne Bishop Luers, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 21-7.

Looking ahead, 21st Century Charter will take on Wapahani at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. 21st Century Charter knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matches -- so hopefully Wapahani likes a good challenge. Fort Wayne Bishop Luers does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
