Springfield is on a four-game streak of home losses, Ashland a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Springfield Millers will take on the Ashland Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Springfield pushed their score all the way to 55 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were outmatched by North Eugene on the road and fell 88-55. Springfield has not had much luck with North Eugene recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Meanwhile, Ashland had to suffer through a rough 65-35 loss at the hands of Crater. While losing is never fun, Ashland can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 174th, while Crater is ranked 49th).
Springfield has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season. As for Ashland, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-14.
Springfield beat Ashland 60-49 in their previous meeting back in January. Does Springfield have another victory up their sleeve, or will Ashland turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
