Arizona College Prep had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the ALA - Gilbert North Eagles on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but the Knights sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row dating back to last season.
Arizona College Prep had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-23, 25-20, 26-24.
Logan Coking paced Arizona College Prep's offense, picking up 15 kills. Coking got some help from Kaden Wong and his 35 assists. Lucas Tam controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
This is the second loss in a row for ALA - Gilbert North and nudges their season record down to 7-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Arizona College Prep will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Perry at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
