East Chambers hasn't had much luck against Orangefield recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The East Chambers Buccaneers will host the Orangefield Bobcats at 6:30 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with East Chambers sitting on six straight wins and Orangefield on five.
Orangefield's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Friday: East Chambers hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. East Chambers' pitcher stepped up to hand Warren an 18-0 shutout on Tuesday. Considering the Buccaneers have won eight matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Isabella Quave was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). Quave was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, East Chambers got a massive performance out of Hailey Hjelle, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three doubles, three RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance gave Hjelle a new career-high in doubles. Another player making a difference was Marley Morgan, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
East Chambers kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.2 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 10.8.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Orangefield took on Kirbyville on Tuesday. Orangefield came out on top against Kirbyville by a score of 3-0.
East Chambers pushed their record up to 13-5-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Orangefield, their win bumped their record up to 14-3.
East Chambers might still be hurting after the 12-2 loss they got from Orangefield in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can East Chambers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
