Basketball Recap: David Frowner's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Glendale over Moshannon Valley

Glendale was the 51-41 winner over Moshannon Valley when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Glendale Vikings took a 64-45 bruising from the Moshannon Valley Black Knights/Damsels on Wednesday.

Several Vikings players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was David Frowner, who posted 14 points and three steals. Those 14 points gave Frowner a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Joey Kitko, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Even though they lost, Glendale smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Moshannon Valley only pulled down ten offensive boards.

Leading Moshannon Valley to victory were Jensen Hansel and Bo Washell. Hansel went 8 of 16 en route to 23 points, while Washell made all 6 shots he took for 17 points and seven boards. Hansel is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Kaden Kephart was another key player, putting up nine points and six assists.

Glendale has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Moshannon Valley, their win ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-11.

Glendale didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 65-38 loss against Curwensville on the 24th. Moshannon Valley has also already played their next contest, a 62-47 defeat against Williamsburg on the 24th.
