The Socorro Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 17th straight loss. They took a 37-27 hit to the loss column at the hands of Coronado. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Socorro in their matchups with the Thunderbirds: they've now lost six in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Socorro lost, one person who can't be blamed is Nataly Dominguez. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. Dominguez hasn't dropped below three steals for three straight games.
Coronado was led to victory by Zuleykha Chavarria and Luna Dalla pozza. Chavarria dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds, while Dalla pozza scored nine points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. Dalla pozza hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games.

That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 29.2 points per game. As for Coronado, their win ended a eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-20.
Socorro will square off against the Trail Blazers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
