Make it seven blowout wins for the Cromwell Cardinals this season. They were the clear victor by a 80-59 margin over Cook County. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Cromwell's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brady Dahl, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Dahl is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Drew Nyberg, who scored 17 points along with two steals.
Despite the loss, Cook County had strong showings from Denali Blackwell, who scored 26 points along with five assists and two steals, and Rohan Rude, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Blackwell is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Recko Helmerson- Skildum, who scored four points along with eight rebounds.
Even though they lost, Cook County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cromwell only pulled down six offensive rebounds.
Cromwell is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. As for Cook County, they dropped their record down to 4-10 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Cromwell will take on the Rails at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Proctor is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Cook County, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Mercuries at 6:15 p.m.
