Lopez had won four straight games and Jasmine Cortinas did her part to make it five on Saturday. The Lobos came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Southwest Legacy Titans for which the team can thank Cortinas, who had 20 digs, 13 kills, and three aces. She is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had five or more in each of the last 37 games she's played dating back to last season.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Lopez who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 21-25, 15-6.

Lopez's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Southwest Legacy, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-2.

Lopez didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial on the 16th. As for Southwest Legacy, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Sharyland on the 16th.
