The Thomas Heyward Academy Rebels's game last Thursday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They strolled past Memorial Day with points to spare, taking the game 45-30.
Despite the loss, Memorial Day saw an underclassman step up: Jaylnn Brown dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. Sophie Welles was another key contributor, scoring 8 points.
The win got Thomas Heyward Academy back to even at 1-1. As for Memorial Day, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Thomas Heyward Academy will head out on the road to face off against Coastal HomeSchool at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Coastal HomeSchool focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 last Monday.
