The Crest Lancers's game last Thursday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 49-40 win over Marmaton Valley. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Crest also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Ryan Golden was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 18 rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Crest's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rogan Weir, who scored five points along with eight assists and six rebounds.
The win got Crest back to even at 5-5. As for Marmaton Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.
Crest will face off against Northeast at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Marmaton Valley, Marmaton Valley and Pleasanton will face off at 5:00 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Pleasanton knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully Marmaton Valley likes a good challenge.
