The Warsaw Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight defeat. They received a tough blow as they fell 56-39 to Butler. While losing is never fun, Warsaw can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 483rd, while Butler is ranked 169th).
Despite the defeat, Warsaw saw an underclassman step up: Luke Henderson scored 19 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Henderson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Noah Siebert, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Warsaw struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Warsaw's loss was their eighth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Butler, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-6.
Warsaw didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 50-36 victory vs. Lawson on the 10th. Butler will head out on the road to face off against Oak Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Butler is facing Oak Grove at the right time seeing as Oak Grove is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
