The Riverton Hawks will venture away from home to face off against the Clinton Maroons at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Riverton had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 18-run drubbing they dealt Lanphier on Friday. The Hawks were the clear victors by a 21-3 margin over the Lions. The Hawks' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Lucas Beatty and Tyler Meyer made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Beatty struck out six batters over three innings while giving up three earned runs off only two hits. Meanwhile, Meyer tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Riverton is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 2-5 otherwise. At the plate, Beatty got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and one run, while Meyer went 1-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those three runs gave Meyer a new career-high.
In other batting news, James Stevens was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and two doubles. Those doubles marked the first that he has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Howard, who went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI.
Riverton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lanphier only posted an OBP of .435.
Meanwhile, Clinton can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They never let Central A & M get on the board and left with a 1-0 win.
Clinton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mitchell Cornwell, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
Riverton is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Clinton, their record now sits at 6-7.
Clinton's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Riverton has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .450. It's a different story for Clinton, though, as they've only averaged .344. Will they be able to contain Riverton's hitters?
