There's no place like home for the Marathon Dolphins, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat Varsity Opponent 59-27 at home.
Marathon's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from ADRIAN CRUZ, who scored 19 points along with two steals. JESUS GONZALEZ was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six rebounds and five blocks.
Marathon's victory bumped their record up to 6-18. As for Varsity Opponent, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 14 of their last 16 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 346-1247-2 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marathon will challenge the Panther at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Everglades Prep Academy is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for Varsity Opponent, they will head out on the road to challenge the Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Averaging 61.6 points so far this season, Atlantic Christian's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so the better be ready for a challenge.
