The Alamosa Mean Moose are taking a road trip to challenge the Bayfield Wolverines at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Alamosa is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.
If Alamosa beats Bayfield with 11 runs on Saturday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. Everything went the Mean Moose's way against Pueblo Centennial on Monday as they made off with an 11-2 win.
Jonah Pittman made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off ten hits. Pittman was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nelson Arambula, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Jaidyn Burciaga was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-5.
Alamosa kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Bayfield hadn't done well against Montrose recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Wolverines narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Red Hawks 13-11. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Wolverines considering their one-run performance the match before.
Micah Cornelia was excellent, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Tavian Box, who scored three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Alamosa pushed their record up to 9-7 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Bayfield, their record now sits at 4-8.
Bayfield's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Alamosa hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .316. It's a different story for Bayfield, though, as they've only averaged .227. Will they be able to contain Alamosa's hitters?
Alamosa suffered a grim 16-10 defeat to Bayfield when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Mean Moose avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
