Basketball Game Preview: Drew Dragons vs. International Jaguars

Drew is 1-9 against International since January of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Drew Dragons will head out on the road to face off against the International Jaguars at 5:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Drew took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They took down San Francisco Waldorf 62-48.

Kian Chan continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 9 for 18 en route to 25 points in addition to six boards and five steals. That's the most steals he has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Nadler, who posted 14 points.

Meanwhile, International came tearing into Tuesday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.4 points) and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Wolves as they made off with a 62-38 win. Given the Jaguars' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 512th, while the Wolves are ranked 1234th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Drew is also on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-14 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.0 points per game. As for International, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-11.

Drew was dealt a bruising 72-42 defeat at the hands of International when the teams last played two weeks ago. Can Drew avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
