The Chino Cowboys are taking a road trip to face off against the Diamond Ranch Panthers at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Chino knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Diamond Ranch likes a good challenge.
Chino's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Montclair 10-0. The victory continues a trend for the Cowboys in their matchups with the Cavaliers: they've now won five in a row.
Kristine Lancaster made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over 4.1 innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Angelina Ortiz, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Evelyn Ornelas, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and one RBI.
Chino always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Montclair only posted an OBP of .364.
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Diamond Ranch's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They lost 10-2 to Don Lugo. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Diamond Ranch's loss dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Chino, they now have a winning record of 12-11.
Monday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Chino hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .390. However, it's not like Diamond Ranch struggles in that department as they've averaged .372. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Chino took their win against Diamond Ranch in their previous matchup on April 4th by a conclusive 18-8 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cowboys since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
