After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against Frankton, Eastbrook was happy to have turned things around  on Thursday. They were the clear victors by  an  11-1 margin over Elwood. The result was nothing new for Eastbrook, who have now won eight games by nine  runs or more  so far this season.
 Austin Mikel made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he  struck out six batters over  six innings while giving up just one earned run off   two  hits (and only one walk). He has become a key player for Eastbrook: the team is undefeated when he allows at  most  one  earned run, but 6-7 otherwise. Mikel was also solid in the batter's box,  going 1-for-4 with three  stolen bases and two  runs. That's the most  runs  he has posted since back in April.
 In other batting news,  Blake Jacobs was  incredible,  going 2-for-3 with six  stolen bases, two  runs,  and one  RBI. Those  six  stolen bases gave  him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Jacob McDermit, who  went 2-for-4 with three  stolen bases, two  runs,  and one  double.
 Eastbrook  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .568. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Elwood only posted  an  OBP of  .286.
Eastbrook has  been performing  well recently as they've  won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record  this season. The  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Elwood, their defeat was  their seventh straight on the road, which  dropped their record down to 2-17.
 Looking ahead, Eastbrook will host Cowan  at 10:00  a.m.  on Saturday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Blackhawks have averaged an impressive 6.1  runs per game this season. As for Elwood, they will venture away from home to  take on Muncie Burris  at 5:00  p.m.  on Friday.
