The third road matchup was the charm for the Warner Christian Academy Eagles, as they earned their first road win of the season. They came out on top against Circle Christian by a score of 66-59 on Tuesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
It was another big night for Christian Nicholas, who scored 25 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 blocks. He hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayleb Goolsby, who scored 6 points along with 10 assists and 4 steals.
Several Centurions players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lucas Valdes, who scored 20 points along with 3 steals. The matchup was Valdes' fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Connor Lion, who scored 14 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals.
Warner Christian Academy now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Circle Christian, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Warner Christian Academy will be playing at home against Halifax Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Circle Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Family Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Family Christian Academy is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
