8A District 6 recap October 8, 2013
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Wharton, who took down 74th ranked Newsome, 21-20. Chase Litton threw for 226 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for 44 yards in the win.
Riverview's Keisean Young rumbled for the longest rushing play in 8A District 6 this season in his game against Plant last week. Young scampered for 76 yards on the play and finished with 95 on the day as his team lost to the Panthers.
Colby Brown threw for 240 yards and 6 touchdowns.
Brown put up the best numbers in passing as Plant beat Riverview. Brown's favorite target this week was Jordan Reed, who caught 5 passes for 98 yards.
Robert Weiner's team's Brown and Reed led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-1 quarterback Brown has thrown for 1,219 yards this season, while Reed has 33 catches for 478 yards. The Wolves' Travis Hempstead leads the league in rushing yards with 560.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, the Wildcats beat Newsome 21-20. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
