The Maricopa Rams lost against the Tolleson Wolverines back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Maricopa took a hard 66-49 fall against Tolleson.
When it comes to explaining why Maricopa lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ruben White. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds. White also grabbed two steals for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Courtney Palmer, who scored 11 points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Even though they lost, Maricopa smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tolleson only pulled down nine offensive rebounds.
Rico Blassingame continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Tolleson, dropping a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds. Blassingame has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jahlil Loyd, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds.
Maricopa's defeat dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Tolleson, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-10.
Maricopa will look to defend their home court on Friday against Shadow Ridge at 7:00 p.m. Shadow Ridge is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Tolleson, they will head out on the road to take on West Point at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
