Boston Latin Academy and Boston Latin are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2018, but likely not for long. The Dragons will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wolfpack at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Boston Latin Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.3 runs per game this season.
The home team had come away the winner the last three times Boston Latin Academy and O'Bryant had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Dragons were the clear victors by a 17-4 margin over the Tigers on Thursday. The Dragons haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.
The team relied heavily on Claire Hauck, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, four RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Ashlyn Brady, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and one run.
Boston Latin Academy hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in four consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Boston Latin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Wellesley, falling 13-3.
Isabelle Russo made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayla Connolly, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
Boston Latin's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Boston Latin Academy, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Boston Latin's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Boston Latin Academy has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.4 hits per game. It's a different story for Boston Latin, though, as they've been averaging 15.2 hits. Given Boston Latin Academy's sizable advantage in that area, the Wolfpack will need to find a way to close that gap.
