Capitan came into Saturday's game having lost eight straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat the Animas Panthers 70-29. The Tigers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Capitan's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Animas, they are on a 22-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Capitan will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Texico at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Animas also won't see the court for a while: their next contest is against Cloudcroft at 3:00 p.m. on January 9, 2025.
