Unatego has been on the road for five straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Walton Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Unatego's defense has only allowed 27.6 points per game this season, so Walton's offense will have their work cut out for them.
On January 3rd, Unatego opened the new year with a less-than-successful 45-41 defeat to they. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by exactly four points.
Meanwhile, Walton put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Unadilla Valley as Walton made off with a 52-30 win. The victory was familiar territory for Walton who now have three in a row.
Walton found their leader in underclassman Grace Walley, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 14 rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which Walley has scored at least a third of Walton's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Beardslee, who scored five points along with six assists and six steals.
Unatego's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-2. As for Walton, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-5.
Unatego took their victory against Walton when the teams last played back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 55-31. Will Unatego repeat their success, or does Walton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
