Wasatch Academy is ranked highly in their home state, and back in January they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Huntington Expression Prep. Wasatch Academy walked away with an 87-80 win over Huntington Expression Prep. Winning may never get old, but Wasatch Academy sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought game, but Sunrise Christian Academy had to settle for a 62-60 loss against Bellevue West on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Sunrise Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 93rd in Kansas, while Bellevue West is ranked first in Nebraska).
Wasatch Academy is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. As for Sunrise Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-10.
Wasatch Academy came up short against Sunrise Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 73-61. Can Wasatch Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
