The American Heritage Stallions were the 47-41 winner over the American Heritage Patriots when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Stallions took a 47-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Patriots. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Stallions came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 135th, while the Patriots are ranked 301st).
The Stallions' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Xander Gerard, who scored 11 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Zack Burrow, who scored nine points.
The Stallions dropped their record down to 10-6 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for the Patriots, their victory bumped their record up to 4-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. The Stallions will take on the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars have now lost 11 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 15. As for the Patriots, they will be playing at home against the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers know how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven games -- so hopefully the Patriots like a good challenge.
