University Christian kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They had to suffer through a 55-25 loss at the hands of the Christian Family Academy Fire. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it eight in a row.
Christian Family Academy was led to victory by Noah Danley and Zeke Johnson. Danley went 6-for-11 to rack up 12 points in addition to eight boards and five steals, while Johnson shot 45% from the field on his way to 27 points. Danley is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last four games he's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Toby Marsh, who posted seven points along with six boards and three blocks.
Christian Family Academy now has a winning record of 2-1.
University Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Tabernacle Christian at 7:45 p.m. on December 12. As for Christian Family Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 89-39 win against Haywood Christian Academy on the 21st.
