EJ Ruffin Turns in Season-Best Effort
On Friday, Ayden - Grifton got the W thanks in part to EJ Ruffin playing the best football he has all season. Ruffin rushed for 174 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.2 yards per carry. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making nine total tackles and defending a pass.
Ayden - Grifton has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 3-4 record this season. Ruffin and Ayden - Grifton will play host again on Friday to welcome SouthWest Edgecombe, where kickoff is scheduled at 7:00 p.m.

Davis Posts Huge Game in 45-18 Win
DJ Davis helped snap West Craven's four-game losing streak. Nobody could stop Davis on Friday as he rushed for 123 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries, and also threw for 111 yards and two touchdowns. He is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games.
This year, Davis has thrown 13 touchdowns while averaging 195.1 passing yards per game.

Keondrick Melton continued his hot streak on Friday by dropping his sixth-straight game (dating back to last season) with at least 104 rushing yards. He rushed for 156 yards and two touchdowns.

While Farmville Central might've come up empty on Friday, Elijah Able wasn't going down without a fight. Able was unstoppable, rushing for 173 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.7 yards per carry. He showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 62 yards.
If history really does repeat itself, Able might just drop another big game when he faces off against Greene Central on Friday. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Able saw the Rams), he rushed for 87 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries, and also caught a touchdown.

A Season-Best Effort from Malik Brown Leads West Craven over Farmville Central
On Friday, West Craven got the W thanks in part to Malik Brown playing the best football he has all season. Brown rushed for 167 yards and a touchdown while picking up 9.8 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.
If the past is any indication, Brown could be in store for another big game when he takes on Greene Central on Friday. When Brown last faced the Rams back in October of 2023, he rushed for 64 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries, and also picked up 58 receiving yards.
