The Pillow Academy Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They fell to Choctaw County 64-60. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Thursday (57), Pillow Academy still had to take the loss.
Caleb Cunningham continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Choctaw County, scoring 24 points along with nine rebounds and seven steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Cunningham has scored at least 25% of Choctaw County's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Treyvionne Woodard, who scored 18 points.
Pillow Academy has been struggling recently, as they've lost nine of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. As for Choctaw County, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pillow Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bayou Academy at 7:15 p.m. on January 12th. As for Choctaw County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against McAdams at 7:30 p.m. on January 6th.
