Oasis Academy is 7-1 against Pershing County since May of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Bighorns will welcome the Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. The timing isn't great for Oasis Academy: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while Pershing County has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.
Oasis Academy lost 17-2 to Yerington on Saturday.
Ryder McNabb was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Pershing County hadn't done well against West Wendover recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way last Saturday. The Mustangs blew past the Wolverines 17-2. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.
Ayden Montes made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most doubles he has posted over his last 11 contests.
In other batting news, Pershing County got a massive performance out of Houston Allen, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Allen a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Trenton Rhodes, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
Pershing County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .618. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Wendover only posted an OBP of .389.
Oasis Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Pershing County, their win bumped their record up to 12-4.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Oasis Academy has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.9 hits per game. However, it's not like Pershing County struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.6 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Oasis Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against Pershing County in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, sneaking past 6-5. Will the Bighorns repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
