The Brick Township Green Dragons''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 19-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of Brick Memorial. While losing is never fun, Brick Township can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey football rankings (they are ranked 165th, while Brick Memorial is ranked 40th).
Although Brick Township took the loss, they still got scores from Jake Toye and Germaine Rice jr.
Even if they lost, Brick Township's defense still kept up the pressure with six sacks. Leading the way was Ezra Meyers and his two sacks.
Connor Dietz continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Brick Memorial, rushing for 201 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.1 yards per carry.
Brick Township now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Brick Memorial, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brick Township will take on Steinert at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Brick Memorial, they will be playing at home against Moorestown at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
