With a playoff game on the line, the United Longhorns rose to the challenge on Friday. They strolled past the Greyhounds with points to spare, taking the game 58-42. The win was nothing new for United as they're now sitting on eight straight.
It was another big night for Atzel Chavez Jr., who threw for 400 yards and five touchdowns while completing 85% of his passes, and also punched in three touchdowns on the ground. Chavez Jr. has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Christian Saldana, who picked up 220 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
United's win bumped their record up to 10-2. As for San Benito, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 10-2.
United will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Westlake at 3:00 p.m. on November 25th. Westlake is on a six-game streak of home wins, United a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the field. San Benito does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
