The Hightstown Rams are on the road again on Friday and play against the Clearview Pioneers at 6:00 p.m. on October 27th. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 45-13, which was the final score in Hightstown's tilt against Allentown on Friday. While losing is never fun, Hightstown can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey football rankings (they are ranked 241st, while Allentown is ranked 114th).
Meanwhile, Clearview's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. The match between Clearview and Washington Township wasn't particularly close, with Clearview falling 38-21. Clearview was down 35-7 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Obrian Brown put forth a good effort for the losing side as he rushed for 170 yards and three touchdowns.
Hightstown's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 3-6. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 9.0 points per game. As for Clearview, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.
