The Cedar Ridge Fighting Red Wolves had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They secured a 48-43 W over Southern Alamance. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Cedar Ridge also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2016.
Amiyah Ware continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 28 points along with five steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Utley, who scored nine points along with five assists and two steals.
Several Patriots players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Madison Brouillard, who scored ten points along with six assists. Sunny Yarnell was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds.
Cedar Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. As for Southern Alamance, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-9.
Cedar Ridge will be playing in front of their home fans against Chatham Central at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Chatham Central is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 52.7 points per game. As for Southern Alamance, they will head out on the road to take on Person at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in Person's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Southern Alamance has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
