The Spencer Greenwave put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They had just enough and edged Hardaway out 57-54. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Spencer has scored all year.
It was another big night for Key?shaun Sampton, who scored 15 points. Gary Gaither was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Despite the loss, Hardaway still got an impressive performance from Mekhi Benton, who scored 20 points along with four steals. The match was Benton's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lamell Mims, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds.
Spencer's victory was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-0. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 31.87 points. As for Hardaway, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.
Spencer and Carver will face off at 7:30 p.m. on December 21st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Carver knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight matchups -- so hopefully Spencer likes a good challenge. Hardaway and Shaw will face off at 4:30 p.m. on December 21st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
