This season hasn't been kind to the Clark County Bobcats, who are still winless after their ninth matchup. They lost to Mackay at home by a decisive 33-14 margin on Friday. Clark County lost against Mackay in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 81-18 score last time.
Mackay was led to victory by Ruger Nicholls and Kaizer Summers. Nicholls scored eight points along with five rebounds and five steals, while Summers dropped a double-double on 12 points and 20 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Summers has scored at least a third of Mackay's points. Cooper Holt was another key contributor, scoring four points along with seven rebounds.
Clark County dropped their record down to 0-9 with that defeat, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 18.0 points per game. As for Mackay, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.
Clark County will be playing in front of their home fans against American Heritage at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Mackay, they will head out on the road to challenge Leadore at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
