Basketball Recap: Bethel Baptist Comes Up Short

Bethel Baptist was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 60-35 to the Magnolia Science Academy Pirates. One positive for the Warriors, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Magnolia Science Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Devin Gonzales, who posted 14 points along with six boards and three steals. Gonzales is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Tobi Bamidele was another key player, putting up 13 points and five rebounds.

Bethel Baptist's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Magnolia Science Academy, they pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing NOVA Academy the next time they take the court. Bethel Baptist will host NOVA Academy at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday, while Magnolia Science Academy will head out to face them at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
