The Palm Harbor University Hurricanes's three-game losing streak came to an end on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 55-36 victory over Dunedin. The victory was just what Palm Harbor University needed coming off of a 70-46 defeat in their prior match.
Leading Palm Harbor University to victory were Devyn Lavelle and Drew Marion. Lavelle dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds, while Marion scored 17 points along with three steals. That's the first time this season that Marion scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Krempp, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Dunedin's loss came despite strong showings from Haylee Dones and Trinity Clincy. Dones scored 18 points, while Clincy scored nine points along with eight steals and six assists. Those six assists set a new season-high mark for her. Brook-Lynn Griffey was another key contributor, scoring two points along with ten rebounds.
The win got Palm Harbor University back to even at 4-4. As for Dunedin, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.
Palm Harbor University won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Indian Rocks Christian at 7:00 p.m. on December 15th. Dunedin will be home for the holidays to greet Boca Ciega at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. Boca Ciega has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
