The Willsboro Central Warriors will head out on the road to take on the Boquet Valley Griffins at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Willsboro Central will be strutting in after a victory while the Griffins will be coming in after a loss.
Last Tuesday, Willsboro Central didn't have too much trouble with the Jaguars on the road as they won 42-26. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Willsboro Central has managed all season.
Meanwhile, Boquet Valley unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell 69-58 to Schroon Lake. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Boquet Valley came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 258th, while the Wildcats are ranked 644th).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jackson Hooper, who almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Leibeck, who scored 19 points.
Willsboro Central's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Boquet Valley, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-2.
Willsboro Central was dealt a bruising 69-23 loss at the hands of the Griffins in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can Willsboro Central avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
