St. Pius X has gone 9-1 against Valencia recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Sartans will venture away from home to take on the Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
As a matter of fact, St. Pius X put up the most runs they have all season on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Grants as they made off with a 20-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Sartans, who have now won eight matches by ten runs or more so far this season.

Dominique Morett was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs.
In other batting news, St. Pius X got a massive performance out of Jordan Chavez, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Aubri Hooee also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.
St. Pius X kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 8-4 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Valencia made easy work of Valley on Tuesday and carried off a 21-14 victory.
Sophia Willis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and ten unearned) runs on ten hits.
At the plate, Cambria Garley was a standout: she went a perfect 5-for-5 with five runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those five hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Adrianna Berni, who got on base in five of her six plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
St. Pius X has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-12 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Valencia, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-13.
St. Pius X took their win against Valencia in their previous meeting two weeks ago by a conclusive 19-9 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Sartans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
