It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Marion County Red Raiders had no problem doing just that on Friday. They breezed by the Panthers at home to the tune of 73-35. Marion County has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matches by 20 points or more this season.
Tye Madison was his usual excellent self, going 6 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 34 points and 1 assist. He hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Vondrell Swanigan was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Marion County is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 24-8 record this season. As for Hackleburg, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-13.
Marion County will face off against Covenant Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Covenant Christian comes in on ten and Marion County on three. Hackleburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
