The Northside L Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Richmond Red Devils at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Northside L knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 12 matchups -- so hopefully Richmond likes a good challenge.
Northside L scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 87-23 victory over Miami Valley HomeSchool. With Northside L ahead 53-19 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Northside L to victory, but perhaps none more so than JOEY HEASTON, who scored 19 points along with five assists. HEASTON also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was DUKE KARNES, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten assists.
Even though Richmond has not done well against Connersville recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Richmond simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Connersville 65-35 on the road. Richmond's win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
It was another big night for Cedric Horton, who scored 22 points. The contest was his sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryder Cate, who scored 14 points.
Northside L pushed their record up to 13-2 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.0 points per game. As for Richmond, their victory bumped their record up to 6-0.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as Northside L and Richmond are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Northside L hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 68.5 points per game. It's a different story for Richmond, though, as they've been averaging only 75.8 points per game. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher Come back here after the game to get analysis of the match and other basketball content.
