Baseball Recap: North Mahaska Beats Iowa Valley for Their Third Straight Victory

North Mahaska took a seven-run defeat the last time they faced off against Iowa Valley, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Warhawks had just enough and edged out the Tigers 8-7 on Friday. While the Warhawks didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

The win was the third in a row for North Mahaska, bringing their record up to 7-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Iowa Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-6.

The Bears' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Warhawks' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
