The Freeport Bulldogs's game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They came out on top against South Walton by a score of 45-35. For Freeport, this counts as revenge for the 58-45 defeat South Walton walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.
Freeport got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jasmine Miles out in front who scored 20 points along with four steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Miles has scored at least a third of Freeport's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Shelby Cosson, who scored eight points along with 12 rebounds and two blocks.
Freeport's win bumped their record up to 11-9. As for South Walton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-11.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Freeport will take on Paxton at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Paxton will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. South Walton won't have much time to rest: their next game is against North Bay Haven Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 24th. North Bay Haven Academy is no doubt hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses.
