If the Augusta Orioles were feeling good off their 73-50 takedown of the El Dorado Wildcats last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Augusta fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 38-35. Augusta was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Mulvane's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aiden Mckee led the charge by scoring 14 points. Another player making a difference was Manny Myers, who scored six points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Augusta's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Mulvane, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Augusta will take on the Indians on Friday. As for Mulvane, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th. Collegiate will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
