While Mater Dei Catholic's win against Grossmont wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Crusaders won by a set and slipped past the Foothillers 2-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Crusaders also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2019.

Grossmont's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jacqueline Villalobos, who had six digs and five aces, and Ciarrah Doliente, who had nine digs and one assist.

The victory made it two in a row for Mater Dei Catholic and bumps their season record up to 9-2. As for Grossmont, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Coincidentally, Mater Dei Catholic and Grossmont will both be playing Mission Hills the next time they take the court. The Foothillers will head out to face the Grizzlies at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Crusaders will play them later in the day, at 7:30 p.m.
