The Edison Eagles had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.9 points), and they went ahead and made it eight on Wednesday. They strolled past Falls Church with points to spare, taking the game 61-45. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Edison also won the last time the pair played on January 2nd.
Despite the loss, Falls Church still got an impressive performance from Simone Pendleton, who scored 20 points along with nine rebounds and two blocks. Pendleton hasn't dropped below 15 points for four straight games.
Edison's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.4 points per game. As for Falls Church, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-6.
Edison will be playing at home against Hayfield at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hayfield is coming into the game hot, having won their last 14 games. As for Falls Church, they will head out on the road to take on Thomas Jefferson Science & Technology at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Thomas Jefferson Science & Technology and Falls Church are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
