The Stone Mountain Pirates had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They snuck past Hapeville Charter with a 59-54 victory on Tuesday. That's another feather in the cap for Stone Mountain, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Hapeville Charter's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jonathan Goldson, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Goldson hasn't dropped below two steals for 13 straight games. Another player making a difference was Miguel Hannah jr., who scored ten points along with five steals.
Stone Mountain's win bumped their record up to 8-16. As for Hapeville Charter, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-12.
Stone Mountain will take on Clarkston at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Clarkston has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Hapeville Charter does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
