Despite the loss, Hernando saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jaliyah Kelly went 5-for-11 en route to 19 points and six rebounds. Kelly's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least 19 points. Fran Kelly was another key player, putting up ten points.
The victory made it two in a row for Tupelo and bumps their season record up to 27-4. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 41.5 points. As for Hernando, their defeat dropped their record down to 22-7.
